I’ve been waiting to see an attempt for integrating tech with furniture. I do like it, but I wish it was a MAC ;)

Greener Switches

 Plugs Coin
If only we change the way we switch on/off light switches by having 1AED coins. Did you know that your home is creating more pollution “Gas for power, hazardous materials, reflective glass heating the environment, street lights etc” than the car you drive. if you compare the hours spend in your car vs your home and the watt used, you will notice that the car is more hightech and greener than your current buildings… huh! I’m currently working on an ‘GREEN’ buildings, and I hope it’s not just the color. heh. I would like to see something like this switch in that buildings. If tenants pay everyday, like how we pay for petrol for our cars, we will be more conscious about the usage of electricity. I think this is the best way to educate the home users on how to conserve electricity and help the environment. design & prototype : Karl Zahn

CityScape in Dubai.

Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

Img 0147Visited CityScape today in Dubai, and I was really impressed with some projects. I have to go back as I have a very limited time today.Img 0153You have to see this, It is with Nakheel. Amazing video/animation on a huge Dubai city model from 1973 to 2020. Great graphics with very inspiring words from the Nakheel people. Nice workImg 0150Simple physical model, which is coated with white spray. I like.Img 0137Typical huge models. This is one of the good site model. Img 0143I have to be fair, some project were also awful. And this was the silly’est. It is some Golden Gate city. and it looks like from Ali Baba Cartoon. Who is going to pay Millions of $$$ for something that is so fake. Ah!
